Day 01: Airport / Negombo

“Ayubowan” On arrival at the Colombo International Airport, welcome by a Representative of S L S Tours giving your first taste of warm Sri Lankan hospitality.


Visit the Negombo Fishing Village- this little fishing port with canals of the Dutch era.


The beautiful beaches where the fishermen live in houses made of coconut palm leaves and dry the fish they caught earlier that day, the fish market, the old Dutch churches, landscape & canals are fascinating.

Day 02: Negombo / Anuradhapura/ Wilpattu National park

Travel to Anuradhapura –The first capital of Sri Lanka in 04th century BC, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1982.


Afternoon undertake a jeep safari of Wilpattu National Park-the unique feature of this park is the existence of "Willus" (Natural lakes). The park is 131, 693 hectares with nearly sixty lakes (Willu) and tanks found spread throughout Wilpattu park that is among the top national parks world renowned for its Leopard (Panthera pardus kotiya) population. 31 species of mammals have been identified and Sloth bear, leopard (Panthera pardus kotiya) and water Buffalo. Sambhur, spotted deer, mongoose, mouse and shrew are more of Wilpattu's residents. Many species of birds are to be found at Wilpattu National Park along with wetland bird species.

Day 03: Anuradhapura

Visit the ancient monuments of historical & cultural interest of Anuradhapura sacred city founded in the 04th century B.C. It has the largest number of ancient monuments of the great Sinhala civilization which flourished in this region.


Afternoon visit the Mihintale and clime upto the summit- Temple of Mihintale holds considerable importance in the history of Sri Lanka. This is where Thero Mahinda, the son of Great Indian Emperor Ashoka introduced Buddhiism to the ruler of Sri Lanka Thissa.

Day 04: Anuradhapura / Avukana / Sigiriya

Travel to Sigiriya - a part of the Cultural Triangle, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.


Visit the Avukana Standing Buddha statue-12m tall a magnificent master piece of Sri Lanka craftsmanship.


Proceed to Sigiriya Rock Fortress built by King Kassapa in 05th century AD, was a castle for more than 18 years, climb the Lion Rock-Rock Fortress a citadel of unusual beauty, rising 200 meters from the scrub jungle. See the moat, rampart, water gardens, the majestic Lion’s Paw picturesquely guards the stairway of the palace on the summit, famous frescoes of the “Heavenly maidens” of Sigiriya and the 10 foot high Mirror Wall

Day 05: Day Excursion to Polonnaruwa & Back

After breakfast at hotel,


Transfer to Polonnaruwa - The medieval capital city of Sri Lanka in 11th century, a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1982.


Visit the ancient monuments of historical & cultural interest of Polonnaruwa sacred served as the medieval capital of Sri Lanka from 11 AD to 13 AD replacing Anuradhapura. Prominent monarchs of this period are King Vijayabahu I, King Maha Parakramabau I and King Nissankamalla.


On the way back undertake Jeep safari of Minneriya National Park- the best place to spot herds of elephants in the wild and also to see other wildlife.

Day 06: Sigiriya / Dambulla / Kandy

Visit the famous Dambulla Golden Rock Cave Temple which is best known for its wonderful cave temple complex dating back to 2nd century BC, was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site. A sacred pilgrimage site for 22 centuries, this cave monastery, a vast isolated rock mass with its five caverns is the largest best preserved cave-temple complexes in Sri Lanka. The Buddhist mural paintings (covering an area of 2,100 sq. meters) are of particular importance as are the 157 statues including a 47 foot long statue of the recumbent Buddha.


Travel to Kandy - The hill capital of Sri Lanka a part of the Cultural Triangle, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.


In Matale, visit a spice garden to see different spices for which Sri Lanka is famous.

Day 07: Kandy

After breakfast at hotel,


Sightseeing tour in the city of Kandy, driving around the Lake built in 1807, the Market Place, Upper Lake road to get a panoramic view of the Kandy Lake & etc.., picturesque premises of the University of Peradeniya.


Visit the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, where a rare collection of tropical exotic and indigenous flora including the famous Orchid House.


Evening visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic and witness the Cultural performance by traditional Kandyan dancers & drummers and an impressive fire walking display

Day 08: Kandy / Nuwara Eliya

Travel to Nuwara Eliya - The hill City is known as “Little England” of Sri Lanka through beautiful backdrops of Mountains, Valleys, cascading Waterfalls and Tea Plantations.


Visit a tea plantation and a tea factory to witness the process of manufacturing the world famous “Ceylon Tea” from plucking of the green leaves to packeting of the processed tea.

Drive through the city of Nuwera-Eliya Town founded in the 19th century by the British, many of the buildings retain features from the colonial period. Many private homes still maintain their old English-style lawns and gardens. Drive pass the golf course, Race Course and boating or fishing on Lake Gregory & etc..

Day 09: Excursion to Horton Plains

After (early) breakfast at hotel or with breakfast packets,


Proceed to Horton Plains known as World’s End by a jeep or van (only to the entrance), to start the nature walk through the tails (about 08KM) to explore the natural undisturbed beauty of the island in the highest plateau in the country.One of the very important National parks in Sri Lanka especially for its an expanse of misty grassland with scraggy trees and ice-cold rivulets and is famous for many rare and endemic highland birds. The awesome physical feature of the Horton Plains is the escarpment that drops vertically for about 4000 ft to the lowlands of the southern region.

Day 10: Nuwera Eliya / Yala

Travel to Yala– where the largest National Park in Sri Lanka is.


Late afternoon, proceed to the entrance of the Park and undertake a jeep safari of Yala National Park- the largest National Park in Sri Lanka and is approximately 1259 kms in extent in the southeastern corner of the Island. The specialty of this park is the home of wild elephants, wild boar, wild buffalo, leopard, bear, deer and crocodiles, also the peacock most famous of the birds in this park, large flocks of migratory and indigenous birds can be seen. Yala has a high concentration of leopards although seeing these nocturnal carnivores still requires some luck
